Remaining faithful to their style of play, Spain was superior from the first minute.
On Sunday everybody was waiting to watch a classical football match between Italy and Spain, but from the beginning the Spanish team took the control, played as they had played in the last World Championship. The players glided across the pitch giving the ball “easily”, as if they had played all together three months ago.
In turn, Italy played as expected, strong, quick and with some opportunities, but a team has eleven football players and one of them is the goalkeeper. In this case the best all over the world: Iker Casillas is not only a great leader of team, he is much more. He is the base of the team. When the team could have some weakness the “holy hand” of Iker is able to change weakness for strength.
At least, it was the most impressive Spain team of the whole tournament. Del Bosque left the best version for the last match. The team was unbeatable in any time. If anybody says the opposite, it is because they saw another match.
Indeed, after the match, Buffon sportingly declared: Spain was superior in spite of Italy showing a high level of play. In the future we will see very exciting matches between both teams.
This is only one championship; next chapter: Brasil 2014. we are witnessing the rebirth of football: the way to understand it is changing and promise us to be better, more exciting and amazing.
