On Sunday 05th August 2012, Usain Bolt won the 100m final for the second consecutive time in an Olympic games competition. He joins Carl Lewis as the only man with consecutive gold medals in the Summer Games' in the 100m event.
The 100m race is the most famous event during the Olympic games. On Sunday, 20 million people watched the sprint. This time, there was some suspense, because the Jamaican’s shape was really discussed before the race.
Usain Bolt said: “I’m more satisfied compare to Beijing four years ago. This victory is very important for me because people had doubts about me, and thought that many of my opponents could beat me. But I’ve shown to everybody that I was the best.”
