Stereotypes about Russia
It is such a pity, when you face any stereotypes during your lifetime. I hardly understand people who follow them and believe them, because if you want to make a judgement about any subject, you should google it at minimum.
There are lots of stereotypes about Russia and now I'm going to break most of them.
1. Everyone drinks Vodka three times per day.
Oh God. I'm absolutely fed up with that question. Does every French person eat frog legs for every meal? Or is every Czech guy dying for beer?
It is just like in every country. Some people do, some people don't. But if you see a person with "Moscow" in his or her flight ticket, it doesn't automatically mean he or she can't live without the drink.
2. Cities. Yes, we have a huge country. And yes, lots of cities. It is not only about Moscow and St.Petersburg and (oh, Jesus) Syberia. Syberia isn't a city at all, by the way.
3. We don't play balalaika or meet bears at the local bar. They are just in the zoos. That's it.
4. Our literature is very rich. We have more authors than just Pushkin and Dostoevskiy. Some are more talented in my point of view.
5. Russian girls are the most beautiful in the world, Now, this is true :)
And finally, I'd like to say that every country has its own unique culture and special atmosphere.
It's quite easy to get lost in all the stereotypes, so choose the right ones. Speak to a native :)
