Bratislava - the capital of Slovakia
My name is Peter and I come from Slovakia. My city is Bratislava. It is the capital and the bigiest city. I would show the country to foreign friends because I find it quite an interesting place.
Slovakia is a member state of the European Union, NATO, UN, OECD, WTO, UNESCO and other international organizations.
Slovak Republic is a country located in Central Europe, surrounded by the Czech Republic, Poland, Ukraine, Hungary and Austria.
It´s very attractive for tourists because of good opportunities for summer and winter holidays.
The north of the country is typical for mountains nature. The highiest peaks are in Tatra mountains and excactlly High Tatras which are popular skiing destination and home to many scenic lakes and valleys as well as the highest point in Slovakia, the Gerlachovský štít at 2,655 metres (8,711 ft), and the country's highly symbolic mountain Kriváň.
The south of country is typical for agriculture.
The biggest river in Slovakia is Danube, but the Danube doesn’t rise in Slovakia. The Danube rise’s in Black Forest in Germany. The longest river is Váh. It is 390 kilometres long.
In Slovakia you may visit hundreds of castles and mansions, from ruins of settlements from era of Roman Empire to mansions from the 19th century.
Bratislava Castle dominates the center of Bratislava and its four towers became a symbol of the city. It was inhabited from neolithic Hallstadt and Roman eras
