Scottish ego may send them through a no way back economic crisis.
Scotland is making their own plans to be an independent nation, leaving the Westminster government and starting their own nation. In the last months, Scotland has been planning a referendum to vote for or against the independence of Scotland, which may separate them from all the rules, government and security of the UK.
The decision comes from what the people believe about gas resources of Scotland. This may let them have a better economy than some other countries in Europe. If their decision is approved by the Scottish, their country will need to set up their own currency or join the euro, establish their own security system apart from England among other change they may need.
In my opinion, the gas resources are not enough to establish a whole nation. If the independence is approved, it will have undesirable consequences for all the countries. They need to stop thinking with their rage against England and realise the big problem of leaving a strong currency and joining an economy in crisis. Also they can’t afford to create a new army, a health system and some other needs being in the middle of the independence process.

Do you agree that Scotland should be an independent country?
A poll of people in England, Scotland, and the UK average about Scottish independence in May 2012
From yougov.co.uk
The headline of this article represents the question which will be proposed to Scottish people in 2014 referendum, which has been considered by Scottish National Party the most important choice for Scotland since the 1970s. In fact, after the Devolution which has permitted Scotland to have its own parliament since 1999, nothing more has been done. Many reasons have built the background of this referendum. The Scottish War of Independence has been replaced for exclusive access to oil funds in the North Sea and control on foreign policy and possible different defence strategy from the U.K. these days, but on the other hand the self determination issue remains central in this process. The opposition is represented by the rest of the U.K. which argue over the historical and cultural ties between Scotland and the entire U.K. not forgetting how it may be important to lose all that oil and gas in the North Sea. Each view may be accepted by different people for valuable reasons, but the main question in my perspective is if Scotland became independent in a few years, it would have only advantages or conversely it would be simplistic thinking that all would be able to change in a positive way without economic and social drawbacks.

Finally, a Scottish independence referendum
Scotland, should it be independent or not? This is an old debate that could have its end soon.
While some Scottish strongly believe that they will develop better being independent, others are not so sure. Nevertheless, English government has always denied their claims for centuries and it has created an unsolved argument.
The first point to consider is to know the desire of the majority of its population. In this way, the referendum that is going to take place next year will be the first step. As everybody knows the referendum in itself has being controversial for a long time, as Westminster has rejected it saying “it was illegal”. However, internationally recognized expert Prof. Tierre says the referendum is totally legal and, in fact, he will be in charge of it.
Independent activists are happy and they say this will be a baby step in the independence process. Besides, they strongly believe it will be beneficial for all aspects of their society, let’s say, the management of their resources, NHS, education, and social welfare. And for people who disagree with it, they ask just to compare the present university fees in Scotland and England. Besides, “our own voice will be internationally heard” they say. On the other hand, non-independent activists believe only the minority think in this way, and according to statics it seems they are right.
In my opinion, a referendum will make clear what the majority want and as we are in a democracy, whatever the result of it is, we must consider it. The world is constantly changing, and nothing happens if they get to be independent, what I wish, because I think they will look after their resources and their culture better. And I hope, The English will keep loving Scottish even though they are independent.
