International Women's Day
International Women's Day is celebrated every year on 8th march to remember the women’s fight through the years and what they did to reach the equal right between man and women. Although some problems still persist in some countries.
Initially it was born as Socialist event in the 1900s, but over time, it has spread to a lot of countries, first of all in the Eastern Europe then in Russia and the others country. The first woman’s day was celebrated in USA in 1908 to promote the equal rights and the suffrage for the women. After 1975 the United Nation General Assembly proclaimed the 8th march as International Women’s day, because before that, this celebration was different country by country. A lot of people think the women’s day was born to remember the death of the women who died in a factory fires somewhere in USA in the 1910s or for the people who died in some strike in the same period, but all of these it’s just voices, although a lot of media keeps saying it.
In some country this day is represented by something, for example in Italy the symbol is the mimosa because it flowers at the beginning of march. So in Italy is became a tradition to give this flower in the Women’s day.
