This is a 1998 American drama directed by Tony Kaye and starrring Edward Norton and Edward Furlong.
It’s a very emotional movie about racial discrimination and racial prejudice in the USA, and neo Nazi ideology. When we watch it , we feel so disturbed because there was a lot of racism before, and some facts are real. The film tells the story of two brothers, Derek Vinyard (Norton) and Daniel "Danny" Vinyard (Furlong) who are very racist and they take part in racism movment. Derek brutally kills two black gang members. and is sentenced to three years in prison. During his sentence he had to work with black people , and he had many problems with white people. Then he began to understand that he had made a BIG mistake and his opinion began to change. When he came back home his brother's racist tendencies had increased, then Derek tried to make him understand his madness. |

Danny said “ Well, my conclusion is: Hate is baggage. Life's too short to be pissed off all the time. It's just not worth it. Derek says it's always good to end a paper with a quote. He says someone else has already said it best. So if you can't top it, steal from them and go out strong. So I picked a guy I thought you'd like. 'We are not enemies, but friends. We must not be enemies. Though passion may have strained, it must not break our bonds of affection. The mystic chords of memory will swell when again touched, as surely they will be, by the better angels of our nature.'
So this movie shows that men can be very stupid, We have to look it , and never make the same mistakes. Because we’re all men , then we have to be equal. Men have to go on. By Soline Huguenin |
